School’s starting and the morning fog is in the valleys

Students are heading back to school but the market will be at our Rt 5 site throughout the fall until the end of October. A little family time at the market is a great way to get the kids thinking about eating healthy and a fun way to spend a Saturday morning. The crops are slowly changing but there are still plenty of hot weather veggies to be found. Our bakers and sandwich makers always have something freshly made that will go great with a cup of hot coffee or cider. Early varieties of apples have finally arrived.

We’ll be having our Harvest Day on September 14 so mark your calendars.

The market is a place for connections  —  to your food, the seasons, your neighbors and your community. Get connected.

We had a wonderfully busy market last week. We also had some parking issues that come with the increased attendance. We’re going to be improving the parking signage this fall but here a couple of explanations and suggestions in the mean time. Thanks for your patience. It’s lovely and relaxed at market and parking should be the same.

No Left Turn – huh?! We try to discourage turning left into the side lot as you come into the entry road due to traffic backing up behind you onto Rt 5. You are welcomed to park there if you can turn left without backing up traffic or if you’ve checked in the back lot and it’s full.

There is an exit for the back section along the playing fields unless a car (or two or three) parks in the exit space (at the community garden end of the lot)

There is usually available parking behind Fogg’s.

Pleas don’t park in the Fogg’s/Bike Hub unless you are shopping there.

How Local?

Everything that is sold at the Norwich Farmers Market is made or grown in one of the four counties surrounding the market. Grafton and Sullivan counties in Hew Hampshire and Windsor and Orange in Vermont supply us with over 110 vendors. That means that your vegetables have been picked fresh for market, some coming from the fields on Saturday morning. Many of the baked goods started the morning in the oven and some of the crafts are created while you’re shopping.

Here are some photos from the Quechee Area Camera Club. They spent a morning at market in June and took some Spectacular PhotosContact Lisa Lacasse for arrangements to use the photos.
