Harvest Day

Celebrate the bounty of the fields as we mark the high season of harvest. Tomatoes are piled high, carrots are bulging out of the ground, and bushel baskets are filled with potatoes and onions. Squash, apples, cider remind us that we are heading into the fall. In addition to the seasonal foods, there will be a bounty of baked goods, prepared foods, and crafts for your pleasure.

Come meet some of the animals that live on our farms. There will be calves from Jericho Hill farm, piglets from Thymeless Herbs and some small, feisty bantam chickens at market this week.

We’ll also be running a continuous raffle with drawings every half hour. Every time you purchase something from a vendor you’ll receive a raffle ticket. Just separate the two halves and drop one in the sap bucket by the Gazebo in the center of market. No need to fill out your name, just listen for the bell and check your number. The more vendors that you visit, the more you can enter. There will be a list of prizes at the gazebo.

Through October 26

And remember – the market will run through the end of October so there’s plenty of growing, baking, knitting, carving, and canning to be found at market.

The market is a place for connections  —  to your food, the seasons, your neighbors and your community. Get connected.

How Local?

Everything that is sold at the Norwich Farmers Market is made or grown in one of the four counties surrounding the market. Grafton and Sullivan counties in Hew Hampshire and Windsor and Orange in Vermont supply us with over 110 vendors. That means that your vegetables have been picked fresh for market, some coming from the fields on Saturday morning. Many of the baked goods started the morning in the oven and some of the crafts are created while you’re shopping.

Here are some photos from the Quechee Area Camera Club. They spent a morning at market in June and took some Spectacular PhotosContact Lisa Lacasse for arrangements to use the photos.
